A born classic, Kung Fu takes the cake as one of my favorite platformers for the NES.
Thomas' girlfriend, Sylvia, has been kidnapped by Mr. X (creative name isn't it?).
Sylvia is being held at the X Mansion where many enemies lie in wait for him. It is up
to you to defeat Mr. X and take back Sylvia, do you have what it takes?
Graphics: (6/10)
The graphics of this game were a tough choice, they are sleek and
stylish in most parts, and rather dull in other areas. However, variety of colors
really make the characters stand out, as well with the enemies. However, the dull
blue background goes hard on the eyes, and never leaves the game.
Sound: (8/10)
The sound in this game is great! The intro before you start has
a great little jingle you will be whistling, humming, or tapping all day. The
gameplay music is fantastic as well, although a little soft, it does the trick
in setting the game. A neat little sound where a ninja scream occurs whenever
you hit somebody which also gives this game more points.
Gameplay: (9/10)
The gameplay of this game is simple and sweet, just the way I
like it. Punch, Kick, Jump, Duck are all simple to do, without complications.
The enemy count is of the charts! Row after row wave of enemies came crashing down
on you to stop you from saving your girlfriend. The gameplay of this game most
definetly deserves a 9.
Replay Value : (7/10)
This game is fairly simple, and can be finished in minutes
by some people. Fortunately, there is a different difficulty in which you can play
the game. So, if you maste game A, just reset and try to master game B which is
much more difficult. With both being mastered, you can always invite a friend
over and take it to two player, and climb your way to victory and defeat Mr. X
and get back Sylvia.
Overall (not averaged, 8/10)
This game is a definate must have. If you ever come
across this game, pick it up, and you can usually find this for a very cheap
price. After reading my review, I hope this has given you a insight of a game
you have been considering to pick up. In this case, pick this game up.
