Golf. Nintendo Golf, that is. Personally, I don like the sport. But since I like Nintendo games, I gave this one a spin.
Gamplay (8/10):
Golf is a simple, relaxing game. The main goal is to clear every course with as few strikes as possible. There are a number of variables to keep track of when playing such as the type of golf club you
e using, the terrain, and the direction and strength of the wind. The only thing Id say this game is missing is the ability to compete with a computer, but there is a multiplayer option.
Graphics (7/10):
The visuals are as simple as the game itself. There are some little details here and there, such as how the backdrop changes when you alter the position of your character. The ball also does a kind of "zooming" effect when you hit it, which is pretty cool for an 8-bit game.
Sound (7/10):
How many words are there to describe something simple? Well, the sound is pretty barebones as well. As far as I know, there isn any music or jingle in the game. You have some basic, 8-bit sound effects. The most memorable ones are the "zwoooooooop" that the ball makes when flying and that satisfying "click" you hear whenever you drive it into the hole. Otherwise, this as quiet as a real game of Golf.
Controls (9/10):
The controls succeed in making this game easy to pick up. The only downside I can think of is the fact that you
e limited to hitting the ball in about 12 directions.
Overall (8/10):
I know that Golf may not look like the most engaging NES game, but give it a try. Its the perfect for when you need to cool down and relax.
